Volcanic Drum

Volcanic Drum is a moving story about Matanuzi, the one-time general manager of the Great Mining Company in Dar-es-Salaam. By using his position through corrupt or shady deals, he amasses great wealth to the extent he is known as “Matanuzi the Billionaire.” He uses his money and influence in excessive drinking, coupled with promiscuity on an unprecedented scale. However, he does not get away with his behaviour. He is consequently infected with HIV that matures into full-blown AIDS which sends him prematurely to the grave. His indiscriminate sexual partners also die one after another, some simply from panic after being diagnosed HIV positive or hearing Matanuzi the casanova has died of AIDS; others from the disease itself.
